edge-of-your-seat exciting...sensitive, funny performance...emotionally truthful show.'
***** Theatre Bath
Joanne’s practice is unique for traversing a range of commissioners, delivering high quality, meaningful cross discipline work with community partners including Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Collective Encounters, SaveraUK and Merseyside Police. In turn, co-producing a powerful exhibition, street theatre and performances with young people at the International Slavery Museum with a focus on ‘honour’ based violence and female genital mutilation whilst also maintaining a high level of theatre practice. Since 2021, I’ve seen an important coalescence of Joanne’s skills sets, interests and expertise. Undertaking a walking pilgrimage with Kriya Arts to COP 26, I witnessed a shifting of focus in her practice. A development that puts climate change and associated philosophical and emotional landscapes at the forefront of a prism of personal, community and global issues… I highly recommend Joanne as a facilitator and artists, the theatre she makes is transformative’

 'utterly captivating and unequivocally entertaining.'

'brilliantly physically dynamic throughout, both facially and corporeally, creating a captivating magnetism that holds those watching rapt.'
Ed Fringe Review *****

'If ever there was a show which relied on the whole-hearted confidence of a single person to succeed, this is it. That the show is so good, so captivating and so funny is a tribute to the actress.'
Garry Cook, Lancashire Fringe Producer
The Birth of Death is a one-woman tour de force. Joanne Tremarco leads the audience on a profoundly moving and disarmingly funny journey, looking at death and how we approach it. In this triumphant piece of partially improvised and semi autobiographical physical theatre, the subject is navigated with great sensitivity, humour and courage.

Outstanding Show Fringe Review.
“A genuine wit, intelligence ... the rare ability to put a participating audience Tremarco at ease without sacrificing the edginess of her material.' Fergus Morgan

Joanne worked at Solihull college during the pandemic as a teacher and facilitator. She quickly adapted to online delivery, delivering creative workshops and projects, resulting in experimental performance and ensuring learning and engagement continued at a really difficult time. Joanne's work with the students culminated in the students performing a 90 minute piece using a wide variety of techniques from physical theatre to new technologies. I would thoroughly recommend Joanne's works as a facilitator and director.”
Lisa Cleaver Cultural Development Officer Solihull.

Wonderful and inspiring. I felt transported to a place where I could ask questions, to the actor and to myself about death, dying and what it all means! And to sit in a roomful of people doing this at the same time was really powerful. It has stayed with me a long time.'

Joanne is an extraordinary and deeply committed facilitator of the fooling art form. Through her work with NOA I’ve experienced her week-long workshops and personal mentorship on many occasions over the past four years. She holds extremely deeply connected spaces, which has bonded even the most diverse of groups and allows for strong learning / healing experiences to occur. Her insights and expertise have been absolutely invaluable to me as a visual artist stepping into, and now combining, comedy performance with a fine art practice”.
Lexi Strauss Artist/ Facilitator/ Clown
I have seen Joanne's work on a number of occasions and have been struck by her ability to gently lead audiences into the heart of the human condition. Her work is authentic, rigorous and compelling and I have no hesitation in recommending Jo and her work to funders. She will not disappoint.' Aleasha Chaunte, One September Art.
